[What a delightful (citation needed) day, between three strange puppets and not having to know about the existence of Lobelia yet!
It's rather late into the morning when he slips into the cafeteria, intent to just seat himself at the bar and keep his meal quick. There's a lot on his mind after talking with their new little tiny friends, and only so many hours in the day to get to work.
Still, he's barely finished placing his order when he sees Nozomi from the corner of his eyes. He'll give a quick once-over, just to make sure he's not interrupting her if she's with company, but will quietly saunter over once he's in the clear.]
Ah, there you are. I hope the kitchen is treating you better than the sweets?
[ It's been a very strange few days... but there's very little that seems normal about any part of this place they've found themselves in.
She's sitting alone, apparently waiting for her own order to be placed in front of her. Maybe she preferred the machines over whatever is happening in this cafeteria. ]
Much better than the sweets. I haven't gotten ill from any of the food here.
[ She's sitting at the cafeteria after the group discussion and has a lot on her mind. What is it about the vote that seems to take people away? Are they all already sick?
What things are linked together? They don't have much of a sample size yet. If they got the culprits wrong, then what would happen? Would anybody even be willing to try it?
...
She doesn't think she's smart enough for any of this.
[He's not participating much, and at some point just disengages with the chatter entirely to simply listen. But he spots here there by herself, looking pensive but staying out of the topics.
During a break in the conversation flow, he slips over to her, right as she starts to leave her seat. Hm, was he too late?]
It takes a bit before she starts speaking, looking uneasy the entire time.]
We don't know what's causing... anything. If just being here is what's causing the sickness, if we're all infected, what the votes are really doing.
If we voted for somebody completely unrelated, would they also be swallowed up that way?
The medicine is supposed to work for a month, but the shimmering darkness happened again. [ And only to the person who had the majority vote. ] I don't want anyone else to get hurt.
[ She's slowly made her way outside, but there's a problem there- there are no more walls to hold herself steady as she makes her way from place to place.
So she's just slowly getting soggier in the rain as she shuffles awkwardly forward and hopes she doesn't run into somebody.
[Had she lost her sight?? She'd not always been the most social teenager, no, but she's not really looking at him...
It takes him a second to gauge her situation. He can't feel it against his grip to her, but he can see how the water is logging her clothing, her hair--
Gods, she must be miserable.]
Here, come with me - the clothing store shouldn't be far away. Are you alright holding tight to my hand?
[He'll take her hand assuredly, a gentle tug to get her moving in the right direction.]
'Tis a blessing there are not more of us wandering around out here. This place must be hitting our senses at random.
[It's thankfully not too long of a walk, slowing at the doorways as he swings it open and holds it with his back, guiding her past him with a hand to her shoulder.]
Watch your step. Slip off to the left while I fetch you a towel.
It's not very sporting of me to go leaving a girl out in the cold, is it? [The comment lilts, from a distance at first but getting closer. She'll have a towel draped against her shoulder.]
Here. Dry your hair, and we'll see about getting you into something a little warmer.
Oh please, Nozomi, I beg you think nothing of it. I'd not have forgiven myself for that sort of ignorance. Besides, you deserve care just as much as anyone else.
[As to her other question:]
Aye, I'd not be surprised. I still have my sight, but have seem to have gone numb with my touch. Some trickery with our senses, perhaps.
WEEK ZERO - TUESDAY

[He gives a glance off towards the kitchen, considering.]
Could I trouble you for a moment? Nothing too serious, mind you. I've just a question or two.
no subject
I don't know if I have that many answers, but I'll do what I can.
Week 1 - Sunday
What things are linked together? They don't have much of a sample size yet. If they got the culprits wrong, then what would happen? Would anybody even be willing to try it?

You've been quiet. Is everything alright?
no subject
Huh? [ She looks surprised to be noticed. ]
Not any worse off than anyone else, I think.
no subject
Just listening to the ramblings of a stressed few for fun, then?
no subject
Right now... we don't have a lot of information to work with.
no subject
In what way?
I won't deny you're correct. I just wonder if there's something specific that's on your mind that you feel is lacking.

Week 4: Monday
So she's just slowly getting soggier in the rain as she shuffles awkwardly forward and hopes she doesn't run into somebody.
Bad luck. She bumps into him. ]
Sorry. I'm just... having a little trouble.
[ ...
No idea who she ran into. ]
no subject
Nozomi?
[girl help :(
A hand reaches to steady her. What in the world is this gait she's taken--?]
I'll say. Gods, you're soaked to the bone -- how long have you been out here?
no subject
Thancred...? [She's pretty sure that's who she's hearing.] I left in the morning. I'm not really sure how long it's been.
no subject

Yes, I'm okay with that.
[ It would be really nice to be in dry, if not warm, clothes right now. ]

[She shuffles to the left as she takes off her jacket and starts trying to squeeze the water out of it.]
Thank you for helping me get here.
no subject
Here. Dry your hair, and we'll see about getting you into something a little warmer.
Have you been like this since you woke?
no subject
[She takes the towel and starts wringing out her braid.]
Yes. I didn't ingest any well water. I guess it's the weekly weirdness...?
no subject
[As to her other question:]
Aye, I'd not be surprised. I still have my sight, but have seem to have gone numb with my touch. Some trickery with our senses, perhaps.
no subject
So she'll move on.]
Yugamu went numb today too. It's really dangerous if you can't feel if you're hurt.
no subject
[Ah, speaking of, he should probably at least shake off his own jacket before he forgets.]
You're friends with Yugamu?
no subject
[She does nod at the question.]
I am.
